Much has been said about Toprak Razgatlioglu's future in recent hours. Some observers had already settled him in Honda MotoGP in place of Marini, while some others claimed that he had already signed a contract with HRC, even contesting two wildcard races in MotoGP once the Superbike season is over.
Among the many rumors, only one thing is certain: at the moment Toprak has not yet decided what he will do next year, and he himself admitted this in yesterday afternoon's press conference at Portimao: "I have read some articles, but there is nothing true: I have not signed with Honda, let alone will I do wildcards. Sincerely speaking, I would like to know who writes these things and why..."
The only certainty is that his contract with BMW expires this year and so as a result he will have to figure out what to do. Regarding 2026, the Munich manufacturer has very clear ideas about things, because the priority is to ironclad Toprak, thus preventing him from fleeing to other shores.
Precisely for this reason, a massive offer will be made to the world champion and Kenan Sofuoglu, which would go beyond two million euros in order to keep him riding the M 1000 RR again next year. BMW is therefore willing to put a MotoGP offer on his plate, going on to revise the victory bonuses under the previous contract.
The Munich-based manufacturer will then make its offer, aware that competition is lurking. In the SBK paddock, the only manufacturer that could undermine Toprak's 2026 with BMW is Honda. In recent years, the CBR 1000 RR-R has improved, even managing to make it to the podium: now, however, it needs a champion who can make the Japanese bike take off for good, and the goal is to get it to win in Superbike. Exactly as BMW did after the various experiments with Sykes and Redding.
Everything will depend, however, on what Toprak's first choice will be, which is whether or not to accept the BMW offer. From there the market will evolve with a view to 2026.
