Two weeks after the Round in Argentina, MotoGP is ready to return to action at the Circuit Of The Americas for the third round of the year. A good opportunity for Marco Bezzecchi to confirm the progress shown in the first two races of the season and aim for a top result on a track particularly dear to the Aprilia Racing team, such as the Texan one.
In the last edition of the GP of the Americas, the Noale manufacturer in fact dominated the weekend with Maverick Vinales, securing the pole position, setting a new track record, and winning the Sprint race and the Grand Prix. The best conditions with which to take to the track to forget the accident that ended Bez 's Argentine Grand Prix in Turn 1. Also considering the fact that the 26-year-old has already stood on the Texas podium on two occasions: in 2021 in Moto2 and in 2018 in Moto3.
"I'm happy to go to Austin, especially because I want to make up for the last race. It will be a complicated track, the most physical in the MotoGP, however, I'm very pumped - said Bezzecchi on the eve of the weekend - I have a lot of desire to face this weekend with my team, we are getting to know each other better and better and things are going in the right direction."
In addition to the rider from Romagna, test rider Lorenzo Savadori, replacement for the injured Jorge Martin, will also take to the track at COTA. The rider from Cesena's objective will be to resume development work on the RS-GP25, after the Termas de Rio Hondo difficulties due to a subluxation to his left shoulder suffered in Q1, when he faced the Austin circuit for the first time in his career.
"Austin, like Argentina, is a track where I have never ridden and it is known to be a tough and very physically demanding track," Savadori noted, "After the injury in Argentina I am still not 100 percent physically, but I will still give it my all. I can't wait to try this beautiful track and continue the development, helping to make the RS-GP25 improve more and more."
