The date is for August 3, when the most highly-anticipated race of the World Endurance season, represented by the Suzuka 8 Hours, will be held at Suzuka. One of the teams that will be on the starting blocks will be Yamaha, which will again be lining up in factory guise.
After an absence of no less than six years, the Japanese manufacturer will once again field its own official team, registered under the Yamaha Racing Team banner. At the moment only one rider has been announced, namely Katsuyuki Nakasuga, winner of the race from 2015 to 2018. However, the names of the two teammates that we will see riding the Yamaha R1 remain to be announced.
For the occasion, the Japanese bike will see a brand-new livery: in fact, 2025 marks the 70th anniversary of Yamaha's founding on July 1, 1955. The color scheme features a red and white color combination, first used by Yamaha in the 1964 World Championship and inspired by the limited-edition 1999-produced YZF-R7 that raced at Suzuka that very year.
The competition is therefore warned!
