MotoGP, Martin's mom: "It's going to be rough for Jorge to fight for the World Championship."

"The Aprilia's performance looked hopeful, but the Ducatis are fast and have proven it in the last two seasons. I'm more at ease knowing that my son isn't on the track."

MotoGP: Martin's mom:

He promised he'd be back on the bike in no time but, after injuring himself twice over the winter, but Jorge Martin's season debut still seems enveloped in uncertainty. Although he was quick to show himself in fair condition on Instagram, it looks as if we'll be waiting a bit longer for him to get back in action on the Aprilia.

During the program, El Larguero, on Cadena SER, the reigning MotoGP champion's mom, Susana Almoguera, expressed her thoughts in an interview. "His recovery is going well but slow, since the scaphoid is a complicated bone. So, I think it's all going to be delayed a bit. What matters, though, is that he returns at his best."

What happened in training, for the Spanish rider, was a very hard blow to digest, psychologically. "He didn't need that second fall, but that's how life goes," she continued. "He definitely didn't take having to watch the races from the TV very well, but I'm more at ease because he's not on the track."

When he returns, he'll no longer have the the unbeatable Desmosedici but the more fallible RS-GP25, even though the first two rounds looked hopeful. "The other riders did well, so I'm looking forward to finding out what he can do and how he'll adapt," she said, before answering the million-dollar question of whether or not the Martinator will be in the game to win the World Championship.

"You'll have to ask him, but it looks rough. The Aprilias are in good shape, but the Ducatis are very fast. That, at least, has been the narrative of the last two years. Ogura and Bezzecchi fighting up front have given us hope," she remarked, as she dreams of seeing her son set the record straight.
