MotoGP: After Tango, Samba returns to MotoGP: riders in action in Brazil

MotoGP has been absent from Brazil since 2004, but that is about to change. In fact, from 2026 there will be a return of the MotoGP to Carioca soil and it will be on a track named after Ayrton Senna, in Goiania. After the Argentine round, there was a presentation event at the track and Franco Morbidelli, Luca Marini and two Brazilian riders, namely Eric Granado and Diogo Moreira, were present .

A possible return to Brazil had already been announced in the past, but after some proclamations in 2018 no agreement was materialized. Now the matter is very different, the agreement is there and concerns a five-year presence starting next season. The track is almost completely ready, but there are still some modifications needed to get the homologation to race MotoGP bikes.

Marini, who did a few laps of the track riding a Honda CBR 1000 RR-R called the track, "a very fast track, perhaps the one with the highest average speed on the calendar. At a circuit like this it will be possible to see many corners of the track from the grandstands, it will be great for the fans and we will try to offer the best show possible."
