MotoGP, Laverty: "Marquez isn't crushing Bagnaia. I see resilience."

The former rider said: "For Pecco, this is when we see his mettle. He's 19 points down, It's not a disaster. Good tracks will come for him."

MotoGP: Laverty:

Bagnaia was beaten three consecutive times by the Marquez brothers. In the two Thai races and the Sprint in Argentina, Pecco had to always settle for a 3rd place. This result definitely doesn't satisfy the Piedmontese rider, whose goal is to battle it out with Marc and not be a spectator of his successes.

Yesterday, after the race, Bagnaia showed cautious optimism, but he also knows that there's still a ways to go for him to be able to fight for the win with his teammate. Some see him struggling, but Michael Laverty, commentator for TNT Sports, is of a different opinion.

"For Pecco, this is when we see his mettle. We'll see his mental approach," TNT Sports' Michael Laverty insisted. "The media will keep writing that Pecco is going to break, and the cracks are starting to show. But I see another side of Pecco. I see resilience."

The former rider stressed that yesterday's podium finish wasn't a foregone conclusion after Friday's poor start.

"To turn things around on this tough track - this is his best result at Termas - that's seven solid points," Laverty continued. "He's nineteen points down after three races. That's not a disaster, by any means. All it takes is a mistake by Marc and a second place by Pecco, and it's all even again. And some good tracks will come for Pecco."

Michael thinks the game is far from over.

"Everyone says Marc is crushing him, but I see a difference. I think Pecco is doing what he can do, getting the best out of his package on a tough weekend for him," he concluded
