MotoGP, Alex Marquez: "Fighting with Marc is a masterclass, tomorrow will be a different story"

"My brother is more on the limit here than in Thailand, but I'm lucky to be able to fight with him. The GP24 is a big jump from the GP23, and the experience is helping me."

MotoGP: Alex Marquez:

Yet another Marquez one-two! After what we saw in Thailand two weeks ago, the Spanish brothers replicated the show also in the Termas de Rio Hondo Sprint with Alex second behind Marc. On the part of the Gresini rider there is a lot of satisfaction for what he did in Argentina. The goal was to spoil the plans of the eight-time world champion, but unfortunately nothing could be done against the #93. "What can I say - he began - to challenge Marc and be at this level is a fortune, a constant masterclass, plus here he was more on the limit than in Thailand. This race allowed me to learn and understand, aware that I need to improve. The initial idea was obviously to stay with Marc and try to attack him, but unfortunately I didn't have the chance."

What aspects of Marc impressed you the most?
"In Turn 5 he brakes differently. On the first and second lap maybe I could attack him, but he stayed on the downshift until Turn 4 and that affected me. Marc then brakes hard in turns 1 and 2 as well as at turn 5. Unfortunately, my pace was too high to overtake him and he didn't make the slightest mistake."

Marc says you will win 2-3 races this year....
"Maybe even four (he jokes). There is a very good relationship between us and I am convinced that he will always tell me the truth."

Alex, how big is the jump from GP23 to GP24?
"It is a very big jump for me, this bike allows me to do everything I want, being able to take the bike to the limit."

How much has Alex Marquez changed from 2025?
"Alex has changed very little. When a bike offers you a lot you make a big jump. Certainly 2024 has given me the experience to deal with this season."

What should we expect for Sunday?
"Tomorrow will be a different story. More than the tires, what could make a difference is the approach to the race, considering we have more information and it's clearer what we need."
