MotoGP, Crivillé: "Today's Marquez reminds me of Verstappen. Bagnaia needs to wake up."

"Marc is in great shape and is superior to the others. Barring unforeseen events he is the favorite for the title, plus he is very serene because he is seeing his brother Alex improve."

MotoGP: Crivillé:

In the 1990s he was the only European rider able to dominate in the premier class of MotoGP until he decided to hang up his helmet and overalls in 2002 to devote himself to his own health. Alex Crivillé now works for DAZN as a commentator, and interviewed by Radio Marca he went back in his mind to 25 years ago when he became 500 class champion.

Also fresh off his 55th birthday the Spaniard joked, "It's nice to have a birthday, but if I think about how long it's been since my title I realize how quickly time passes. That said, I see that so many fans remember that championship and that makes me feel complete. I am happy with both what I have achieved and the fact that I am still being valued," were his words.

From amarcord to the current day, the Iberian also did not hide his satisfaction with the way MotoGP's opening weekend panned out at Buriram. "It could not have ended better with the Marquez brothers first and second. Marc is in great shape, he rides the best bike, he is in the strongest team and he is very motivated. I think if nothing happens he will give us a lot of fun since he hasn't fought for the title for so many years," he said about the champion from Cervera while emphasizing the length of the season.

"In my opinion he is the favorite, plus I see him very happy because Alex has improved a lot. For his part, Bagnaia will have to get a move on to try to play it because his teammate is superior. He reminds me in a way of Verstappen in Formula 1 when he would start and win easily. That could actually happen," he concluded.
