SBK: Daytona is Red! Herrin and Ducati triumph at 200-mile race

It was that man Josh Herrin again, for the third consecutive time, the fourth in his career. The American rider took the victory in the 83rd running of the Daytona 200, riding the Ducati V2 of the Warhorse HSBK team.

A memorable Saturday for the Rossa, which again laid down the law in the States at the end of a race peppered with several twists and turns, which eventually became a sort of sprint over 27 laps.

During the 25th lap, rain in fact forced the race direction to show the red flag, stopping the riders. Once back on track, there was a new red flag for Farrell's crash in the middle of the pack.

On the third restart, Josh Herrin proved irrepressible: the Ducati rider was in fact able to maintain the race lead from the start, making the most of the pit stop for fuel and tire change, and then closing the race nicely on the top step of the podium.

The American preceded by 5 seconds at the finish line the Suzuki of Escalante and that of Scott, the latter who set pole.

For Herrin, it was a fourth victory at Daytona and third consecutive seal with Ducati. The best calling card ahead of the upcoming challenge in MotoAmerica where he will be called upon to defend his title.
