The first weekend of the MotoGP season played out at the Thai circuit in Buriram saw Marc Marquez dominate in the Sprint Race as well as in the Sunday race, undermined only by his brother Alex who, riding the old GP24, tried to bother him and complicate his life to the last, but missed the target.
On the strength of a Desmosedici in the first races of the year that proved to be not so far behind the new GP25, it is clear that the Gresini Racing rider will come back and try once again, backed by an exceptional supporter, as special as his mom Roser Alentà.
Speaking on the YouTube program El Larguero she confided, initially dwelling on the relationship that binds her children. "Ever since they were little they have always walked their path together. They love and respect each other very much," were her words.
Usually parents keep well away from expressing preferences, but in this case Mrs. Marquez was not afraid to reveal who she would like to see win in the upcoming events. "I would like it to be Alex because ever since he came to MotoGP they keep saying that he succeeded because of Marc and that's a lie. He is a born worker, but he needs more time to reach the pinnacle. It would be a dream for me to see him with a title. I would be really happy about that. What matters, however, is that they don't get hurt. Even if they don't win anything I would be fine with that. The numbers and statistics are secondary," she said.
Also sharing this maternal desire was the nine-time world champion, who was quite happy to forgo joining Valentino Rossi in favor of his little brother. "It seems to me that he even said that. I don't know if there is a recording, but he would be very proud. Marc, at least it seems so, has never claimed that he wants a ninth title at all costs," she concluded.
