MotoGP: VIDEO - At Buriram ' friendly fire' by Morbidelli on Bagnaia who ends up in Q1

Bagnaia was hit by Morbidelli's 'friendly fire' and will start his first qualifying session of 2025, in the Thai GP, from Q1. Pecco, in the pre-qualifying session in Buriram, was not too incisive. In the first outing, he set his (not too) fast lap of 1'29.711 on his first attempt, then aborted the second one preferring to return to the pits without finishing it. At that point, he was gambling everything on the second exit. His first lap was cancelled due to the yellow flags coming out, while in the second (when he was less than a tenth and a half behind at the halfway point) he found Franco in front of him and had to brake to avoid him.

The VR46 team rider had finished his turn, was proceeding slowly on the trajectory and did not notice the arrival of his Academy teammate. Bagnaia's gesture of annoyance towards him was natural, although Morbidelli (in the video you can see below) seems to point to him something to apologize. One guess is that yellow flags were displayed in the next few corners, but the framing does not allow them to be seen.

To know how it will turn out, we will have to wait for the decision of the Stewards, who from this year are led by Simon Crafar. For Bagnaia nothing will change, because with the 13th time tomorrow he will be in Q1, but Morbidelli could be penalized if he is found guilty of ruining Pecco's lap.
