The Phillip Island tests went in the worst way possible for Federico Caricasulo. In fact, yesterday the MV Agusta rider ended up on the ground, due to a highside, suffering a fractured wrist in addition to several bruises on his body.
Today the Romagna rider returned to the circuit, waiting to return home and undergo surgery. The MV Agusta rider explained to us what happened: "Farioli lost oil at the last corner and three riders crashed," he began, "so the race direction showed the red flag to restore normal conditions. Once it was removed, we were assured that the asphalt was fine. The fact was that it was not, because there was still oil on it. On the second lap I then flew into the air at 170 km/h, making a bad highside."
There was a lot of disappointment on his part: "I'm really disappointed, I could have done without that. Now I'm waiting to return home, hoping to have surgery on my wrist before the weekend. This is my Caberg helmet, which held up, as the impact was impressive. However, I think something more needs to be done in terms of safety, because this is not sufficient."
We wish Federico the best in his recovery journey, looking forward to seeing him back on the track.
