Sunday, February 16, 2025 is not a day like any other for Valentino Rossi, who just today blows out 46 candles. It is a special birthday for the nine-time World Champion, who made the number 46 his signature number even before he was officially retired from MotoGP in 2022.
Throughout his professional career, in fact, Rossi has always adopted 46 as his race number. The same number previously used in MotoGP by his father Graziano and by one of his great idols, Norifumi Abe, and from which Vale did not want to part even in the years when he could have sported the reigning champion's #1 plate.
Always at the side of the Pesaro rider, whom it has supported from the beginning of his legendary journey through the Dainese and AGV brands, the Dainese Group has therefore decided to make this occasion even more special, celebrating Vale's 46th birthday with a limited edition Soleluna Vale46 Anniversary kit. The package consists of a Dainese Demone GP D-air 3x kangaroo leather suit and a Pista GP RR helmet, featuring a black and carbon base, with precious gold leaf details and Valentino's ever-present fluorescent yellow.
The exclusive suit, delivered inside a collectible display case, and consisting of helmet and leathers (not usable on the track or on the road) will be made in only 46 numbered pieces signed by Valentino Rossi. Suit number 01/46, with even more exclusive additional details, will be auctioned off to support a charitable cause chosen by Dainese and Valentino and revealed later. While the remaining examples will be sold, with certificate of authenticity, in selected Dainese stores worldwide; VR46 outlets; and other outlets chosen from museums, racetracks and art galleries, in limited batches throughout the year.
An initiative designed by Dainese to pay a unique tribute to the man, the champion and the legend of motorcycle racing, share this special milestone of his with 46 of his most devoted fans.
