MotoGP: MotoGP racing in Barcelona until 2031

The MotoGP will race in Barcelona until 2031. The circuit debuted on the 1992 calendar and has, so far, hosted 34 Grand Prixs, becoming the circuit with the third most consecutive MotoGP seasons.

Miquel Sàmper, Minister of Business and Labor of the Government of Catalonia and President of the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, said, "We celebrate this agreement, which strengthens Catalonia's link with motor racing, especially the MotoGP, which has been held at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya since 1992, more than thirty years ago. Securing the MotoGP Grand Prix until 2031 is great news for Catalonia's reputation as a premier venue for international sporting events. In an increasingly internationalized and competitive environment, Catalonia's ability to maintain a circuit in such a stable manner is an achievement to be proud of."

Pau Relat, President of Fira de Barcelona and Circuit Fira, added, "The extension of the contract until 2031 is great news for the circuit. Weìre very happy to continue hosting the most important motorcycling championship, which has been linked to the Catalan track since 1992 and has a huge impact worldwide. At the Fira Circuit, we're committed to working with institutions, Dorna, and the entire MotoGP community to ensure that the Grand Prix consistently meets the highest standards and becomes, year after year, an unforgettable experience for fans and championship members."

Carmelo Ezpeleta, CEO of Dorna Sports, holder of the rights to the MotoGP, commented, "We're very happy to sign this new agreement with the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. They never fail to offer fans a world-class weekend. We've always recorded impressive attendance numbers, and the circuit is well connected to Barcelona, one of the most culturally important cities in the world. It's a winning combination for us, and we're excited to continue racing here."
