MotoGP, Aldeguer: "The start test with Marquez? Random, but what a scare."

"I don't need to confront him. It was a fluke. I've never slipped like that with the tire. I struggled this morning but, after the break, we made progress. The Michelin tires were an extra variable."

MotoGP: Aldeguer:

He glided between the 16th and 14th position during the first test day at the Buriram circuit, the same that will host the first 2025 MotoGP race at the end of the month. Fermin Aldeguer doesn't want to be hasty and is trying to approach his apprenticeship in the premier class, step by step, riding Team Gresini's Ducati.

"The Thai track is completely different than Sepang, plus, Michelin brought different compounds, so there were more things to adapt to. This morning, I struggled a bit but, after lunch, working calmly, we took an important step forward. We're still not at the top, but we're going in the right direction," he said, confidently.

The work carried out included the start tests done side by side with Marquez. "It wasn't intentional, but just a fluke. I don't need Alex to tell if my starts are well done or not. There's the data to document it. This is definitely something I'll have to improve on because, with the slippery track, I struggled. One simulation in particular was crazy. I've never slipped like that before, but it's normal when the track is in these conditions, and other riders had problems like that as well," he said.

When asked if this work was a beginning for other activities, the Iberian rider concluded, "No, it was just aimed at exercising."
