It was the charming setting of Ruote Da Sogno in Reggio Emilia that was the venue this evening for the presentation of the Kawasaki WorldSBK Team, led by Manuel Puccetti. In fact, the team founded and managed by the manager from Reggio Emilia has picked up in this 2025 the inheritance of the Provec Racing team, which has become Bimota's team of reference in World Superbike, covering from this year the role of official structure of the Akashi manufacturer.
A responsibility enthusiastically welcomed by Manuel and the Puccetti team, ready to proudly defend the colors of the Japanese manufacturer. Indeed, the green, white and black typical of Kawasaki liveries are the colors that will dress Garrett Gerloff 's Ninja ZX-10RR in 2025. A year in which the American will aim to fight consistently for that podium position he savored again last year riding the BMW M 1000 RR.
"The biggest difference for me is the chassis and the front end of the bike and also the torque of the engine is better than the bikes I rode before and, as well as giving me a lot of confidence, I think it will be a big help when trying to overtake in the race. How many races will it take to be 100% with the Ninja? I hope just one," said the American during the presentation. "Honestly, the tests have been positive and I feel like I know the bike almost completely. Where can I get my first podium? This bike won two races in Australia last year, so I feel a little bit of pressure to go there and try to perform right away. We'll see".
There can only be high expectations this year also on the World Supersport front, where Manuel Puccetti's team will field Jeremy Alcoba riding the new Ninja ZX-6R with 636 cc engine. A bike with which the Spanish rookie and his team will try to give themselves some satisfaction.
"It's a new adventure, not only for me but also for my part of the team," said the Spanish rider, who was pleasantly impressed with his new Ninja: "I didn't expect it to be so powerful, I liked it straight away. I only know five of the 12 rounds on the calendar, so I can't say exactly where I could do well: at Jerez it was the first time I rode the bike, so I don't know what the potential is, and also at Portimao because I still needed some kilometres, but I think with my riding style and this power we can do well in Australia".
