Toprak sports the #1 plate at Portimao, but rain spoils the SBK winter

At Portimao, the rain is again the protagonist as happened in Jerez: the risk is that SBK will arrive at Phillip Island with only two days of testing under the belt

SBK: Toprak sports the #1 plate at Portimao, but rain spoils the SBK winter

Track action was supposed to start this morning at 10 a.m., but things did not go according to plan. In fact, the rain that fell until the early morning light ruined the first day of Superbike testing at Portimao.

As a result, all the teams and riders have had to remain idle in the pits waiting for an improvement in the afternoon. The only curiosity this Tuesday is to see Toprak's BMW sporting the #1 plate for the first time this preseason.

The fact remains that the weather is complicating Superbike's plans for the start of the season in no small way. At Jerez it was exactly the same scenario, in fact on Thursday many teams decided to stay in the pits because of the rain.

Having arrived at this point, the risk is that Superbike will head to Phillip Island with only two days of testing behind it as opposed to the four initially planned. No small headache, which will force the teams and riders to revise their respective plans.
