MotoGP, Domenicali: "Fair competition between Bagnaia and Marquez will be a topic"

"I really liked Michele Pirro's statement on the stage, when he talked about a powerhouse of talent. We're aiming for the maximum result, but races are always difficult, and we have to understand what others will do."

MotoGP: Domenicali:

Madonna di Campiglio was the scene of the presentation for Team Lenovo Ducati 2025, which will be lining up an impressive duo with the arrival of Marc Marquez with Pecco Bagnaia. This is great opportunity, but also a great challenge for everyone at Ducati, which will have to manage two champions under one roof. Ducati's CEO, Claudio Domenicali, spoke about this and other topics in an interview with SKY.

"I enjoyed the presentation, and I think there's one phrase that I particularly liked, and I think Michele Pirro said it, which is that there's an incredible powerhouse of talent on the stage. I think that's the key, namely, the talent of the riders but also of our engineers and technicians who have been able to create a method over time. This makes us proud of what we've done and are positive towards the future."

Bagnaia and Marquez are a great challenge.
"Challenge, harmony, and victory. I think, when you start with a team like this, with Pecco who has fought for four years in a row for the title and won two, and Marc who's an eight-time world champion, you can't hide behind that. We're aiming for the best possible result, the races are always difficult, and we'll have to understand what our rivals have done. I think one topic will that of being able to have fair competition between Pecco and Marc, because both are obviously aiming to win, but only one will succeed."

Hamilton in Ferrari with Leclerc, Marquez in Ducati with Bagnaia. Why take on a champion when you already have so much talent on your team? This was Domenicali's answer.
"I can't answer for the others, of course. For Ducati, it wasn't an easy choice. We've said it many times. Jorge was a Ducati rider, and was very strong. But we think this team has more potential to make the company grow. The amount of talent is self-sustaining. We think Marc can help Pecco grow and vice versa, and we think both can help the engineers grow. So, in our opinion, it'll be even harder for others to beat us."
