SBK: China moves away: Kove weighing up a farewell to SuperSport300

It was 2023, when Kove landed in the Superbike paddock, appearing on the starting blocks of SuperSport300 with Chinese rider Shengjunjie Zhou. A year-long apprenticeship in the category, with the intent to improve and learn.

The bike was the KOVE 321R, equipped with a 321cc parallel twin-cylinder engine with a declared power output of 42hp in the road version and a sophisticated chassis for the category. In the end, however, the efforts put in on the track allowed the bike and the team to improve, achieving pole and victory last season with Spaniard Marc Garcia.

With 2024 in the archives, the premises for 2025 seemed to be of the best, but there might be a major twist in the short term. According to what has been learned in the Jerez paddock, Kove is in fact considering a farewell to the SuperSport300 as early as this season.

At the moment there is no official word yet, but the manufacturer seems to be no longer intent on pursuing the project itself. So now it will be interesting to see how the situation evolves in the coming weeks, considering that the Championship will start at the end of March in Portugal.

As a result, doubts and questions are likely to be on the horizon regarding Kove's 2025 season. Among the possibilities, however, it cannot be ruled out that the manufacturer will exit the scene, but leave the motorcycles under team management.
