Once again there is the Ducati of Nicolò Bulega in front of everyone in the tests. In fact, the Aruba rider concluded in the lead on Wednesday's test in Jerez, putting all the opposition behind him. On the part of the #11, there is therefore satisfaction with what he did on the track, as the world championship runner-up confirmed that he was immediately competitive.
The road seems marked out and Nicolò has only to follow it.
"I've always liked Jerez as a track, in fact I've been strong in any condition and with any bike - he said - today, however, I had to think more about the wind than the bike, since really strong gusts were coming, in fact the Ducati was moving a meter without me doing anything. So I couldn't push at 100 percent. By the way, all this wind was bringing so much dirt in the visor, as it felt like Qatar sand."
Nicolò, what are you missing to beat Toprak and the BMW?
"Here in Jerez Toprak he is absent and as a result we do not know the real potential of the BMW. Last year I lacked some experience, in fact I was starting slow during the race weekend. Honestly I wouldn't know what exactly I'm lacking to close the gap to them, for sure in Ducati they are working a lot and hopefully we are getting closer."
What is the aspect that made you suffer the most last season?
"The thing I suffered the most in 2024 is that on Fridays I was wasting two sessions to learn the bike and the track, in fact only in the last five minutes of the session I could be strong. Let's say I used to waste Friday, then on Sunday I could be fast. This year I think I can start strong already, saving time."
What changes, however, with the reduction in fuel flow?
"To be honest, we were a little slower. It's like you're going uphill. Let's say that's the idea I have."
