Dakar: Andrea Perfetti back in Italy: medical plane landed in Milan yesterday

Andrea Perfetti arrived in Italy last night, as reported by moto.it. The medical flight that left Nouakchot landed in Milan at 10:45 pm. Andrea was then transferred to the Nuguarda Hospital in the ICU. Perfetti is still sedated and will undergo extensive tests to assess his physical condition.

On Jan. 7th, during the 7th stage of the Africa Eco Race, Andrea was involved in an accident, when an organization's light plane, during takeoff, had a problem and hit one of the refueling trucks used for the riders. Perfetti was injured and immediately transported to the nearest hospital. Fortunately, Andrea's condition turned out to be less serious than it seemed at first. Franco Acerbis remained by his side the whole time.
