He came in sixth, paired with Bezzecchi at the end of the 100km of Champions that was organized at the Ranch in Tavullia owned by Valentino Rossi: Pecco Bagnaia found time to analyze what happened in 2024 and make a prediction about what we'll witness in a few months when the engines will start up definitely again. But, before turning to the technical aspects, he wanted to share the emotions he experienced on his honeymoon in an interview on Sky Italia.
"It was much better than I could've ever expected. It was definitely a winter during which I relaxed," he said.
When it's time to put on his helmet and overalls,, for real after the brief flat track stint, the rider from Chivasso will be sharing the garage with the challenging Marc Marquez. "It's definitely going to be a fun and tough season for everyone because there are always more races," he said. "Plus, the competition is getting stronger. I think Aprilia with two riders like Martin and Bez can be fast while, for KTM, everything will depend on the recent difficulties, but the riders at their disposal are very strong. Yamaha and Honda will probably grow as well, especially the latter. So, we'll see. In any case, we have to think about what we did wrong last year and try to do better."
Last year's MotoGP runner-up won 11 races, so his new goal must certainly be more ambitious. "If there are twenty GPs, then just as many can be won. You always have to try to do a little better," he said, raising the bar.
To succeed, however, he'll have to try to complete the Sprint Races, his Achilles heel. "The good thing is that I self-analyze a lot. Even if I was on my honeymoon, I thought a lot about certain moments in the last championship," he finally admitted.
