The World Superbike Championship is preparing to reignite its engines for the new season and, as per tradition, it will be the Jerez track that will host the first collective winter test of the new year. In fact, the Bimota team has booked the Andalusian track for the days of Wednesday, January 22 and Thursday, January 23.
An unmissable occasion for most of the official teams, but one that will see the absence of the reigning World Champion, Toprak Razgatlioglu, halted by an injury in training. Carrying on the work for the BMW team will therefore be the Turk's teammate, Michael van der Mark, flanked on the occasion by the Bavarian manufacturer's test team riders, Markus Reiterberger and Sylvain Guintoli.
On the other hand, the Ducati squadron will not be missing from the roll call, which will see the two official riders, Alvaro Bautista and Nicolò Bulega, take to the track. In addition to Andrea Iannone, Sam Lowes, Ryan Vickers, Scott Redding and the two Barni team riders, Danilo Petrucci and Yari Montella.
Also present en masse is the Yamaha ranks, including factory riders Jonathan Rea and Andrea Locatelli. They will be joined by the riders of the GRT and Motoxracing teams. Space also for the HRC team's Hondas, entrusted to Iker Lecuona and Xavi Vierge, and the CBR1000RR-Rs fielded by the Japanese manufacturer's test team and Midori Moriwaki's team.
Among the riders present, in addition, of course, to Alex Lowes and Axel Bassani with the Bimota KB998, there will also be Garrett Gerloff with the official Kawasaki entered by Manuel Puccetti.
