MotoGP, Di Giannantonio already focusing on the track: no partying, only workouts

Fresh from surgery on his left shoulder, the VR46 Racing rider has never stopped training for 2025, during which he'd like race as a role player and third wheel in the possible domination of the official Ducati

The Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing team has announced the presentation date for its new bike. 2025 will officially begin for the team on January 25th at the Nuas Indah Theater in Jakarta. The team has already done well and is now a candidate to be one of the most interesting on the MotoGP grid. Playing the role of leader, in his second year with them, will be Fabio di Giannantonio, alongside Franco Morbidelli. Franco just arrived from Yamaha to replace Bezzecchi, who switched to Aprilia.

Fabio, who was born and raised in the Rome, was the star of a 2024 championship disrupted by his injury at the Red Bull Ring. However, he was still able to finish in tenth place in the overall standings with 165 points, while Marco had to settle for twelfth with 153.

The feeling is that, if he hadn't injured his shoulder - which then forced him to miss the last two weekends in Sepang and Barcelona - the 26-year-old could have achieved something more. Despite not reaching the podium, unlike his former partner, and coming in third in Jerez in the fourth round on the calendar, his performance was more consistent, and he was more frequently able to place just behind the podium.

Many times in the second half of the championship, we heard him regretting not being able to give it his all due to physical pain, but his ambition remained intact and was renewed for the upcoming season. "I'd like to annoy the factory Ducatis," he's repeated like a mantra in public, dotting his i's and crossing his t's, making it clear to the competition that, as soon as he's fit again, he'll try to give the other riddrs a hard time, even to the newly formed and seemingly unreachable pair, Pecco Bagnaia and Marc Marquez.

So it's to no surprise that, with the new year just beginning, instead of posting photos from his vacation, he preferred to share some shots of himself in the gym, while training the part of his body that's been troubling him. "My shoulder is coming back strong," he stated. A way to set the record straight, with the support of his team that, in the past months, has stood by him in critical moments and has given him the confidence and sensations that have already made him a reference.
