MotoGP: The Red and the Black: Marquez and Martin's fates cross in Italy

The winter vacations are now in the archives and MotoGP is ready to go again. We will have to wait almost another month to see the category on track again, with the first tests set for February 5-7 at Sepang, but the next few weeks will still be busy for the premier class teams and fans. Before flying to Malaysia, almost all the teams will begin their season with traditional presentations, in which they will unveil their new liveries and riders. There will be many changes and there is a lot of curiosity to see some of the championship protagonists in their new colors (Marc Marquez and Jorge Martin first).

Beating everyone at the get-go will be Aprilia, which will kick off the grand galas next week. Leading the way will be satellite team Trackhouse next Tuesday, January 14. The American team made its MotoGP debut last year and will enter 2025 renewed ... in half: confirmed Raul Fernandez, in the other half of the box there will be reigning Moto2 world champion Ai Ogura. The livery will also likely be different because a collaboration with Gulf was recently announced, and everyone remembers the Le Mans-winning Porsche with that company's coloring.

After the U.S. appetizer, it will be time for a main course: the official Aprilia team. The date is for Thursday, January 16, when the veils will be taken off the RS-GP Factory in Milan. The team has been completely overhauled, and on the bike from Noale will be Jorge Martin and Marco Bezzecchi. So in a few days' time we will find out if the Spaniard will put the number 1 plate on the Aprilia and what his goals will be for 2025, the season in which he will have the title to defend. At his side will be Bez, called to redemption after a rather dull 2024.

On Saturday, January 18, it's off to Imola, where the Gresini team has chosen the "Enzo and Dino Ferrari" Autodrome to start the year. After a year with Marc Marquez, Nadia Padovani's team will continue with Alex Marquez and welcomes Fermin Aldeguer, one of the most interesting rookies of this season. The event will host not only the presentation of the MotoGP team, but also the Moto2 and MotoE teams.

Ducati, as per tradition in recent years, will make a stop-off in Madonna di Campiglio. The date is Monday, January 20, to present the dream team. On one side there is Pecco Bagnaia, a cornerstone of the Rossa who had to abdicate leaving the title to Martin, and on the other side Marc Marquez, a champion who is rebuilding his career in Borgo Panigale. Speculation is rife as to what the cohabitation between the two will be like, and in the snows of Trentino they will make their first pass-by together.

The VR46 team, which will have Fabio Di Giannantonio and Franco Morbidelli as riders, will organize an event in Indonesia, home of sponsor Pertamina, on January 25. Jakarta will be the venue for the presentation.

KTM has been in the spotlight over the winter because of the crisis affecting it. However, the MotoGP program is currently confirmed and the presentation of the two teams scheduled for January 30. The GasGas brand has been withdrawn from MotoGP and both teams (the official and Tech3) will therefore be in orange. Pedro Acosta will join the first team alongside Brad Binder, while the French team will feature Enea Bastianini and Maverick Vinales. To underline that they will be two teams at the same level, the presentation will be joint.

Yamaha has made the same choice, with an event scheduled for January 31 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on the first day of Shakedown. At last Iwata is back to having a satellite team, Pramac, and wants to celebrate this milestone achievement. So on the same stage there will be Fabio Quartararo and Alex Rins (wearing the Factory team colors) and Jack Miller and Miguel Oliveira (wearing the Italian team colors). Not only that, because the Moto2 team that will be run by Pramac will also be presented .

The next day, February 1, it will be the turn of Honda. Luca Marini and Joan Mir have been confirmed, and 2025 will be key in moving up the ladder, with Romano Albesiano in the role of technical director. A week later, on February 8, it will be the LCR team's turn to show off its new liveries with which Johann Zarco and rookie Somkiat Chantra (the first Thai in MotoGP history) will race.

Finally, on February 9, MotoGP will hold a joint presentation in Bangkok for the first time, along the lines of what Formula 1 will do in London. Too bad that by that date all the presentations will have been made, making that event very unattractive.
