The automotive world is mourning the death of Osamu Suzuki, who passed away on December 25 from a lymphoma. Announcing the 94-year-old's passing earlier today was the eponymous Japanese car and motorcycle manufacturer, for which the manager was an iconic figure for nearly half a century.
President of Suzuki Motor Corporation from 1978 to 2021, when he handed over the helm to his eldest son Toshihiro, Osamu, who held several roles in the company, including CEO, bequeathed the guiding values of the brand, which he raised with the care of a father, the patience of a sage and the aggressiveness of a leader.
Earlier this year, he was elected to the automotive industry's Motoring Hall of Fame (MHOF), joining an exclusive circle that has had only 39 members since its inception in 2010.
