A new team will be present ant the start of the Women's World Championship in 2025. Next season, the GRT team will be adding to its World Superbike presence by also participating in the Women's Circuit Racing World Championship (WorldWCR) with an all-Spanish line-up that promises to achieve great results from the very first races.
Defending the colors of the team captained by Filippo Conti in its first year in the category will be expert Sara Sanchez and rookie Natalia Rivera. With her third place in the inaugural season of the championship, thanks to two victories and nine podiums, Sanchez will unabashedly try to prove herself among the great role players of the World Championship.
"It's an honor for me to be part of the FIM Women's Circuit Racing World Championship grid, once again. And it's also an honor to be part of the Terra&Vita GRT Yamaha WorldWCR Team. I've followed GRT's work throughout the years in the World SBK and look forward to working with them in this new chapter. I also want to thank them for their trust," the 27-year-old Catalan ridercommented, setting the bar high for next year. "My debut season in the Women's World Championship was positive. I managed to win two races and ended up several times on the podium. My goal is to further improve, and I'm confident that the team will support me to the best of their ability to make this possible, so I can't wait to start again!"
It's going to instead be a whole new challenge for her teammate, Rivera, who'll be making her World Championship debut and riding the Yamaha R7.
"I'm very excited for this new adventure and to have the opportunity to measure myself in the FIM Women's Circuit Racing World Championship against the fastest girls in the World! I've been watching them this year, and I can't wait to test myself and compare myself with them on the track," the 18-year-old, reigning Women's European Champion, commented. "I've come from a wonderful 2024 in which I won the Women's European Championship, and this can only give me great confidence for 2025. I'd like to thank the Terra&Vita GRT Yamaha WorldWCR Team for their trust in me. I'll do my best to repay them!"
It's going to be a new adventure for the GRT team that's starting with great ambitions, supported by Title Partner Terra&Vita in this challenge.
"We're pleased to announce our participation in the 2025 FIM Women's Circuit Racing World Championship as the Terra&Vita GRT Yamaha WorldWCR Team. This is a very important step for us, and extending our racing commitment to the Women's World Championship means so much to the team," Team Principal Filippo Conti said, eager to begin this new chapter with two talented and fierce female riders.
"The championship has proven to be compelling and very competitive, so we decided to take part in it with two fast and talented girls like Sara and Natalia. The former has already proved her worth in 2024, winning victories and podiums and proving herself as one of the fastest girls on the grid. We'll support her in the best way possible, in order to further improve what she has accomplished this year," he added. "At the same time, Natalia has proven how fast she is by winning the title in the Women's European Championship, as well as getting podiums in the FIM Yamaha bLU cRU World Cup. She's a very young girl, but we're confident that she'll settle in quickly and soon be fighting for podiums and wins throughout the season. We can't wait to get started!"
