SBK: China targets World Superbike Championship with Xiamen for 2026

The 2025 season has yet to begin, but for Dorna, all eyes are already on 2026. Indeed, the Organizer's goal is to broaden its horizons by taking Superbike to new horzons. In fact, next year's calendar does not present anything substantially new. Apart from the introduction of Hungary, the only stop outside Europe remains Australia, which as per tradition will host the first round.

Obviously Dorna wants to have more races outside the Old Continent, as was the case until a couple of years ago, where there was the presence of at least one Asian round. Who knows, maybe Superbike could return to Asia starting in 2026.

Nothing is confirmed at the moment, although China has come forward, proposing to Dorna the Xiamen track, located in the Fujian region, across from Taiwan. Just in recent days, QJ chose this track to present its new models, and the brand itself is advocating the circuit as a new 2026 addition to the calendar.

Discussions with Dorna have been going on for a couple of years now, but at the moment this opportunity has not yet materialized. One of the reasons, in fact, is related to whether or not to bring in a category such as SS300, which at its core sees the presence of a manufacturer like Kove. Obviously there would be huge costs to be reckoned with, which the Organizer would have to bear in order to meet the needs of smaller teams.

So it remains to see how things will evolve in view of 2026.
