The 2024 Superbike tests ended at 6pm in Jerez. The Andalusian track hosted the last ones before welcoming 2025. Yamaha, Kawasaki, BMW test team, Bimota, and Honda MotoGP were on the track, with Mir and Zarco riding the latter today.
The fact is that, at 6pm, the fastest of all turned out to be Alex Lowes, with a time of 1'38 "355. The Bimota rider had a remarkable performance, bringing the BK998 only two tenths of a second off the chrono achieved by Bulega in the October tests. On that occasion, the vice world champion ended with a 1'38"142, but when the weather was warmer compared to November.
Behind him, instead, was Axel Bassani, with only 3 thousandths away from his teammate. This is certainly a positive for #47 who seemed confident with the new bike right from the start, after first trying it a month ago. Now, he's going to undergo hip surgery before getting back on the track in January.
Johnny Rea also appeared in the top of the rankings, 97 thousandths slower on his Yamaha than Alex Lowes. Chasing the Cannibal were Zarco's and Mir's MotoGP Hondas, then Garrett Gerloff's Kawasaki.
Yesterday, Puccetti's American rider was the best. Today he instead ended up less than half a second from the top. Behind him was tSam Lowes's Ducato, followed by Andrea Locatelli's Yamaha.
Further back were the test team's BMWs with Reiterberger and Guintoli. But, among the SSPs, the fastest proved to be Schroetter on Wepol's Ducati.
