SBK, BMW scares Ducati: "We haven't even tested 40% of the 2025 material"

Gonschor speaks: "Toprak may already be testing the new bike by the end of the year. In January, you'll get to see the final version of the M 1000 RR."

SBK: BMW scares Ducati:

BMW is busy with tests these days in Jerez as it looks ahead to 2025. Guintoli and Reiterberger were present, while Toprak and van der Mark are enjoying their well-deserved winter vacation. The fact remains that they're working hard for next year at BMW, to the extent that the Munich-based manufacturer will be bringing to the track a latest-evolution M 1000 RR that we've already seen in recent weeks.

Regarding the work carried out in Germany, Chris Gonschor explained what diretion they took: "Right now, I haven't even tried forty 40 percent of the material we want to use next year," the SBK manager told our colleagues at Speedweek. "So, it's a slow start, but it's good to gather some basic information before Christmas. We definitely must have everything ready for January, when we'll use the final version of the M 1000 RR. Here, in Jerez, we're continuing our developmen, in ordert to have a solid foundation."

To this regard, there's no certainty that Toprak will be able to test the new BMW, even before the end of the year. "Unfortunately, the weather didn't prove to be our ally." He continued: "We wanted to ride at Aragon, but the rain got in the way. However, the idea is to do a test by Christma and try to figure out which tracks we'll be able to go on. We'll what we need to do in the upcoming weeks, knowing that we don't have much time."
