SBK: Yamaha news flash: Laverty replacing Canepa as coach

We already anticipated part of this news a few weeks ago: Oriol Pallares as Johnny Rea's new crew chief instead of Andrew Pitt. The second part arrived today. Yamaha has decided on Eugene Laverty as the new Superbike Riders Coach.

Given Nicolò Canepa's promotion to Road Racing Sporting Manager, the manufacturer had to scramble to find a replacement. The choice fell on the former rider, who has been busy in recent seasons with the Bonovo team and BMW.

So a new challenge awaits Laverty starting tomorrow, when the last 2024 test will be held in Jerez. Kawasaki, Bimota, BMW test team, and Honda MotoGP will also be present on the track with Yamaha.
