SBK: Davide Giugliano bids farewell to Oli Bayliss and starts over at Van Straalen

Davide Giugliano's team is looking ahead to 2025, and next season will be all about innovation for the Italian team. With Oli Bayliss leaving, the team has decided to start over with two new riders: Glenn van Straalen and Eduardo Montero.

The Dutch rider has already claimed five podiums during the three full seasons in which he competed in the WorldSSP, with a win achieved at Assen, his home circuit, in 2024. Despite his young age, van Straalen already boasts a wealth of experience in the category and is looking forward to testing the Panigale V2 before its Phillip Island debut next February: "I'm very happy to join the D34G Racing team for the 2025 WorldSSP season. It's going to be very different with the Ducati, but I'm confident that, with Davide and the team, we can be competitive. We have a good winter test schedule, in order to make sure we're ready for the season opener at Phillip Island. I'm looking forward to making my debut with the team."

On the other side of the garage, Glen will find Eduardo Montero: "I'm very happy and excited about this new project. This is a good opportunity for my racing career, which I'll face with a lot of motivation and dedication. I thank Davide for the trust he's placed in me for this project, and the same goes for all those who give me their support every day."

Giugliano welcomes the new riders: "A new season begins. I'm very happy with the work we've done in 2024, and I think it'll give us a good boost for the new year. I'd first like to wish our former riders good luck, since we'll be lining up a newyoung and talented pair for 2025. Glenn is one of only five riders who managed to win a race in last year's edition and also achieved podiums. We were looking for an experienced and fast rider. He comes from an official team. We know he has an absolutely professional approach, and I think he came to the right team. Edu is also a young rider, who already has an ESBK Superstock 1000 title under his belt, and he'll be participating in the Challenge. It's really an interesting pair within a championship that continues to grow, but we know we can be competitve. That said, I welcome them both and look forward to seeing them ride our Ducatis. Of course, I want to thank the sponsors who accompany us on this adventure and for their continued trust. Without them, all this would be much more difficult. Shortly, we'll be starting with the first tests. Obviously, the time to prepare is limited, because we leave for Australia in February. We're already working to further develop the bike, which has already proven to be good and competitive, growing at the same time with the team. We have great support from Ducati, and I'd like to thank everyone for that. I'm sure we'll get even closer to our goal this year."
