One of the most eagerly-awaited events of this EICMA edition was the Champions Charity Race, or the flat-track race with direct elimination, the proceeds of which were donated to Abio, the association for hospitalized children.

The many fans in the stands witnessed a tried and true battle, with two-wheel legends vying for the scepter. The winner was Cristophe Pourcel (2006 MX2 champion), who got the better of legend Troy Bayliss in the finale.

Casey Stoner, who's recently been training for the top step of the podium, was also present. Everyone was really excited to see the Australian rider and, even though his dreams faded in the semifinal, he was still enthusiastically cheered on by the crowd.
