MotoGP: Official announcement: Barcelona replacing Valencia for last GP

The Official confirmation has arrived. The last Grand Prix of the season will be held in Barcelona, at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, on the originally scheduled dates: November 15th to 17th. The Grand Prix will be held in solidarity with Valencia.

The statement reads:

"Previously, the event was to be held in Valencia before the devastating floods that heavily affected the region. Instead of racing in Valencia, the MotoGP will race for Valencia, for all those affected, and for the entire community. The MotoGP asked the authorities to race in Barcelona because it was the best possible choice. The circuit is the easiest option for fans who were already planning to attend the season finale. The venue and circuit are also the most efficient, since they offer a near-perfect alternative for personnel and logistics.

The event will be organized by the MotoGP, and we remain committed to our mission of having a positive impact on the people, place, and planet wherever we race. In this case, racing near the Valencia community will allow the paddock to put this mission into practice even more directly.

More information for fans wishing to attend the 2024 fight for the title will be shared as soon as possible, along with the various initiatives that will be held throughout the weekend to support the relief efforts for Valencia."

Barcelona will also host the year-end gala, where the winners of every class will be honored, while the MotoGP tests are scheduled for Tuesday, November 19th.
