MotoGP, Bezzecchi: "Iannone is a Superstar, he has not lost his own qualities"

"He's cool, plus he's also with Elodie ... I think it's disrespectful to run the last race in Valencia, there are more important things than the MotoGP race."

MotoGP: Bezzecchi:

Marco Bezzecchi finds himself a new teammate in Sepang. We are talking about Andrea Iannone, who after 5 years is back again on a MotoGP bike. As we know The Maniac has been called in to replace Di Giannantonio, and on Bez's part there is curiosity to see him back at work.

"I am happy to share the pit box with Andrea," he said, "I was quite excited yesterday when I saw him for the first time because I grew up with him when I was watching MotoGP. Andrea was one of the greatest Italian riders and I think I will be able to learn something with him."

How does it feel to have him in the box?
"It's a very strange thing and at the same time very cool. He hasn't ridden a MotoGP for a while, but he was one of the strongest talents. I'm sure he hasn't lost his qualities and at the same time I'd like to show him a few things."

What do you think of him?
"He's a very cool and nice person, I'm glad he's here with us in the box. Of course I feel sorry for Fabio. Having said that Andrea is cool, he is a superstar, plus he is also with Elodie (jokes). In the end he is a rider for me. I know he already knows some of our team members, plus with Pablo and Uccio they are friends, and this thing I think is important."

You return to Sepang, a track where you suffered in testing. What do you expect?
"In the winter tests I suffered a lot, in fact the one in February was not an easy test. I already know I will have some problems, but during the season we have been working to improve and grow. As I said we may experience some difficulties again, because during the course of the season we have not been able to solve them all. Definitely it will be a good weekend."

Marco, did you get a chance to see the images from Valencia?
"Yes! I think the race is the least of their problems. We also experienced a similar situation a few months ago, but I think Valencia is far worse, since there are also victims. So I send them all my strength. That said, the race for me goes in the background. I am aware there is a title up for grabs and I guess there is a desire to do the race, but I think it is disrespectful to race in Valencia. Maybe the circuit is okay, but there are so many people without a home. It's a strange situation and we have to try not to race there."
