MotoGP, Acosta: "I'm starting at an advantage in Sepang. The bike? It changed for the better."

"I've accumulated lots of  laps on this track, so I have a lot of information. The accident in Buriram? We still have to figure that out. I was afraid of hitting Martin. With the new frame, my KTM is more docile."

MotoGP: Acosta:

From the stables to the stars. Pedro Acosta left Thailand with ten laps to go, followed by an excellent podium finish in Sunday's race: a good recapo of his first year in the MotoGP, punctuated by highs and lows. On the eve of the second to last event of the season in Malaysia, the Spanish rider steered well clear of making predictions but admitted that he has an advantage.

"It should be easier for us, a bit like the second round in Misan ," he confessed "Besides, we have a lot of information at our disposal, since we accumulated many laps in the shakedown. I think I was the only rider present on all six scheduled days. I have to say that the tires will be different, but at least there are fewer things I'll have to adapt to. Compared to then, how much has the bike changed? It' s quite different, but for the better."

Going back in his mind to the incident that occurred at Turn 3 in Buriram while he was behind Martin, he said, "It's not something that has happened to me often. We haven't figured out the reason yet. At any rat,e it's related to a small change made to the bike. We honestly didn't expect it to turn out to be so important. Certainly, the crash wasn't caused by the slipstream because I was quite far away. Let's say I was sideways and couldn't stop. I was afraind I would rear-end Jorge but, fortunately, I wasn't that close. From the images on TV, it looks different."

After the last stage in Emilia Romagna, KTM introduced a new frame and aerodynamics. "With these changes, the bike became more docile. Although, overall, they didn't make it more successful or even weaker. We're more confident, so should be happy," he concluded.
