BMW's 2025 season starts today. Despite weather complicating plans at Aragon, the Munich-based manufacturer has unveiled the M 1000 RR for the 2025 title hunt. This is not a revolution, but an evolution of the bike seen on the track this year.
According to the company's release, the German bike features more power thanks to an upgrade to the engine, reaching a peak performance of 218 horsepower - six more than the 2024 version - at 14,500 rpm.
Then there are also innovations in the aerodynamics with wings made of carbon fiber to facilitate the generation of more downforce when the bike is upright and when it is leaned over, increasing cornering speed but reducing the tendency to wheelie.
The aerodynamic downforce load is 30kg at a speed of 300 km/h, an increase of 7.4kg, but the top speed remains 314 km/h. Other changes include modifications to the throttle, exhaust and chassis. Finally, starting this season, the swingarm will be manufactured by BMW itself without relying on Kalex anymore.
