Valencia has been hit in recent days by violent flooding that has claimed more than 50 lives. These are hours of anguish throughout the city amid reports of missing persons and extensive damage to homes and structures. Heavy rains have also hit the Valencia circuit, which will host the final round of MotoGP in just over three weeks.
The mud and rain have caused extensive damage, so much so that the access roads to the track, which is currently isolated, have collapsed. A spokesperson for Dorna explained, "the facilities at the Valencia circuit have not suffered any damage, the track is 100 percent okay. There have been no injuries among those involved and everyone is fine. I think this is the most important thing."
The problem, however, is related to the access roads: "Unfortunately, the roads leading to the circuit are destroyed," he added, " The property is making a damage assessment and they are already working ahead of the last race. They are in fact preparing a project to rebuild an access road within a week in order to allow the influx of public and professionals."
So the situation is critical around the track due to the water and mud that has resulted in a lot of damage. So we will see how the situation develops in the coming days.
