The Thai GP ended with a return to victory for Bagnaia, his ninth of the season, and a slight recovery of points in the standings by the Italian. With two races left in the season, Jorge Martin still leads the world championship by 17 points, forcing the rider on the red Ducati to have to take a few more risks to rebalance the playing field. What is certain is that the final battle will be held with a few points between them directly at Valencia. More uncertain is the outcome of the tussle for third place in the standings between Marc Marquez and Bastianini. Both riders are always competitive, and they could also indirectly influence the title battle of the two main contenders by taking away precious points.

This is what Carlo Pernat had to say on the situation after Thailand:

"The Thai GP has made things clear. The world title will be fought out between two riders, Jorge Martin and Pecco Bagnaia. Bagnaia won a great race, he is like the phoenix, people thought he was finished after the sprint. He wanted to win and he did it in the rain, it was a very difficult race for the two contenders. Neither of them could afford a crash, jeopardizing their chase for the title. Bravo. Above all to Bagnaia, while Martin was a bit nervous, but that's normal for both at this point in the championship. The title will be decided at Valencia, with two races remaining and 37 points up for grabs in each. The two contenders for third place in the championship, on the other hand, both finished with a zero. Marc Marquez was having an incredible race chasing Bagnaia, but he didn't have as much as him and made a mistake. The same goes for Bastianini, who pushed hard - these two will fight for third and fourth in the championship. There was also an awakening in KTM, with Acosta getting a good podium, fighting against Miller and Binder, both on good form. Here's the question: the race was wet, while in the sprint Ducati dominated with all eight bikes in the top positions. In the wet the race changes a lot, the bikes count less and the riders also behave differently."

"Acosta did well in both dry and wet conditions, if KTM solves its problems it will become a real rival next year. It could even become a title contender if everything goes right. As for Aprilia, they seem to have given up this season. Their riders are unmotivated, Aleix will retire, and Vinales is not consistent enough. It is clear that Noale is already looking ahead to next season with Martin and Bezzecchi. They will also have a new technical director to replace Albesiano, Fabiano Sterlacchini. It is strange because deals are made with riders and things change mid-season. A little awakening from Honda as well, with Yamaha struggling as usual while Fabio does his best. On a side note, Fabio di Giannantonio had an amazing race, now he will undergo surgery that will keep him out for three months. All this to get to next season on a Ducati GP25 in perfect condition, a bike he has proven he deserves. As for the bike vacated by Di Giannantonio, Andrea Iannone will return to MotoGP in Malaysia on the VR46 Ducati. A nice return, although a bit risky after an absence of four years."
