MotoGP, Quartararo: "Morbidelli couldn't brake, two riders threw me off today"

"Franco was too optimistic. We still had twenty laps to go, not one. Too bad, because we could've fought for the podium."

MotoGP: Quartararo:

Fabio Quartararo finished last in the Thai GP and he's really disappointed. The Yamaha rider was in the midst of a tussle for the podium when he ended up falling thanks to Franco Morbidelli.

A wasted opportunity on a day that could've brought a smile to the French rider's face.

"I was thrown out twice in a row today," he began. "In the end, these are the races, and I can't control the movements of the other riders. I honestly don't understand when it happened with Franco, since the speed with which he entered that corner was very fast for braking. In fact, I think he was too optimistic. It's too bad because there were still twenty laps to go, and we weren't at the last. Besides that, I don't have much to say."

What can you tell us about the day?
"We struggled in the warm-up with the rear, especially in left-handed corners. I couldn't push the way I like, but we eventually found a solution, since I had a good pace."

Then came the race ...
"Initially, I suffered with the front, because I felt a lot of blocking. But we managed to take a big step forward in the afternoon and finish the race, even though the bike was almost broken."

What would've been an achievable goal?
"I was watching the big screen and saw Bagnaia open the throttle to create the gap with the other riders. I don't feel like saying I could've been on the podium, but between third and seventh would've been realistic."

What were the conditions like in the race?
"The conditions were good, but it was critical when the asphalt started to dry."
