MotoGP, Di Giannantonio: "The one lap kills me, I give myself an 8 for this season"

"I thought I would suffer more. In this season, what matters is to have brought out my best in any condition." Bezzecchi: "With the hard I have no grip and I can't corner. The Martin-Bagnaia battle? Pecco lost 2 points, but there's another race on Sunday."

MotoGP: Di Giannantonio:

A Sprint with the knife between his teeth. Despite not being in top condition, Fabio Di Giannantonio once again turned in a solid and consistent performance, finishing Saturday's race in Buriram in eighth place, ahead of Binder's KTM.

It was a Saturday of sufferance for him, but the Pertamina VR46 rider showed once again that he knows how to grit his teeth.

"I thought I would suffer more," he said, "the one lap is what kills me while the races did not tire me too much. It's too bad because in my opinion we were very fast: unfortunately at Turn 3 I lost several positions and then complained of brake problems. I was constantly going long, but in the end I am aware that I took a big step forward compared to yesterday. So I think we can do a great job tomorrow."

Fabio, what is the balance of this season?
"In the history of every rider there is always a season in which more could have been done. We this year did the best we could in the conditions we found ourselves in. I would therefore give myself an 8 as a mark. Perhaps we lacked that spark that was needed, but I am convinced we will treasure it for the future."

Echoing his words is Marco Bezzecchi, who was ahead of him at the finish line in seventh place.
"Unfortunately, at the start my first spurt was not the best, in fact the lowering device didn't release - he said - the truth is that I can not take advantage of the hard tire and I am more in difficulty than usual, especially with the heat of the other bikes. This morning with the hard tire the bike was not turning and as I said I couldn't get it to corner: unfortunately I'm 3-4 tenths short, I lose in the middle of the corner and the Ducati has less grip. So we will try to do something ahead of Sunday."

What is the plan for Sunday?
"I'd like to be able to use the hard, so that I can find grip in the corner, since you brake hard here. The weather? I would prefer a dry race, but we'll take what comes."

What do you think of the Pecco-Martin world championship battle?
"Today Pecco lost two points, but there's another race tomorrow. You tell me how it ends."
