BMW is not standing still, and at Jerez it showed off a new engine for next year. Despite winning the title last Saturday, the Munich-based manufacturer is already working towards 2025 with the goal of confirming itself as Queen of the Series together with Toprak.
At Jerez, the Turkish rider is not present because he is in Istanbul for the World Championship celebrations. On the Andalusian track, however, there is Markus Reiterberger as well as Sylvain Guintoli.
It's a welcome return for the French test rider, who has had to deal with a particularly complicated period in recent months due to the illness that struck his son.
However, Guintoli is on track today and he tested the 2025 engine. The goal is to have better power delivery and work to improve the traction. Also, remember that next year there is an important change on the regulation front: the management of fuel quantity will be reduced, so that the bikes will be less powerful in order to balance performance at the same time.
Because of this change, BMW could be one of the most affected manufacturers because of the high revs the engine reaches.
Here at Jerez we will only see this new feature, in the Aragon tests instead there will be some new developments on the level of aerodynamics and much more.
