The last round for 2024 turned into a real nightmare for Alvaro Bautista, who managed to collect only one measly point over the entire weekend in Jerez.
After falling twice in Saturday's race, and a 9th place in the Superpole race, the Spanish rider from the Aruba.it Racing - Ducati team fell again at Turn 6 in Race 2, ending his season early.

A disappointing epilogue, made even worse by the fact that Alvaro had ended the last championship by celebrating a hat trick right on the Andalusian track.
"It was definitely a disastrous weekend for us, because I couldn't find the right feeling with the bike from the very first day, and I couldn't ride comfortably," Bautista explained after the race.
This was certainly not the way he wanted to end the season, but the two-time Superbike champion didn't let himself get down. He tried to use this weekend as a basis on which to set up the work to come.
"Today, we tried to use a different set-up, to start working towards next year. In the end, it was difficult to see how it was going in the race. We found some positives and some negatives, but we definitely gathered data from which to start testing in the upcoming days," 39-year-old rider stated, closing the curtain on this difficult year.
"I extend my congratulations to the team and Ducati for the teams and cvonstructors titles," he added. " I'll continue to work and try to improve the sensations on the bike for next season. But, before thinking about next year, I also want to congratulate Nicolò for finishing the championship in second place.
