MotoGP, Bastianini: "I expect a great fight. Lots of tire options? A limitation."

"The weather will be variable, but that's always the case in Australia. Other manufacturers also do well here, so it's going to be more of a battle than the rest of the season. The new asphalt? The SBK riders say it's better."

MotoGP: Bastianini:

Second in the Sprint Race and fourth in the Japanese GP, Enea Bastianini arrived at Phillip Island with a great desire to do well and to continue to keep an uncomfortable opponent like Marc Marquez behind him in the general rankings, even if he knows Australia will be anything but a walk in the park.

"The weekend will be variable on the weather front, but we're used to it, because it's always like that on this track. Plus, there's also the new asphalt, which will be an important improvement, at least according to what the SBK riders said," the rider from Romagna mentioned.

And precisely in relation to that, the Moto2 and Moto3 riders will have extra time to get used to the new asphalt. "For this occasion, Michelin has provided many options and, due to the fact that we're going to have some wet sessions, we might get the chance to try all the tires. This could end up being a limitation, so we'll have to be quick in our work and be ready," he contemplated.

The 2024 championship has been predominantly led by Ducati. "As a matter of fact, we've been superior this year, but the Australian track has historically also seen other brands being competitive, so I don't only expect a four-way fight. The level is increasing every season, the times have decreased, the tires have improved a lot in the last period, and we Ducati riders are faster as well. I think there's going to be a battle in this edition too," the 26-year-old rider finally predicted.
