Until a few weeks ago, the farewell of two Ducati teams to SuperSport seemed practically a foregone conclusion. The first was Aruba Feel Racing: the team born from the collaboration between Stefano Cecconi and Daniele Casolari. In these past three seasons, they had won the title with Bulega and were aiming for an encore this year with Huertas.
For next season, however, Aruba has decided to focus its efforts only on the Superbike, consequently ending its commitment with the SSP. Despite Stefano Cecconi leaving, Feel Racing intends to go ahead on its own, therefore, continuing its commitment for its fourth consecutive year.
But the rider still remains to be clarified, since Huertas will race in the Moto2 with Italtrans in 2025. Recently, the team has been talking with a number of riders including Phillip Oettl, who's leaving SBK, as well as Dennis Foggia, who's seeking a bile for the upcoming season. So now w'll just have to see how the situation develops.
One team that we'll definitely not see in the SuperSport is Barni. In fact, Marco Barnabò has decided to double up in the Superbike with Montella, ending the mid-category project. But his Panigale V2 won't stop racing because a new team will be picking up the baton.
We're talking about Wepol: the team headed by Ludek Weag, which is currently in the SuperSport with Triumph and Mc Phee and Baldassarri. Apparently, at the end of the season, Weag will end his relationship with the British manufacturer, choosing Barni's Ducati V2.
So, we'll see how the situation in the SSP will finally evolve in the coming week, in view of 2025.
