MotoGP, Zarco: "Albesiano? He'll bring ideas, but he'll be alone. Ten Italians areN't coming."

"The Japanese philosophy is very much present on the RC213V. However, change is important, especially introducing an engineer from another constructor. I'm hoping for rain tomorrow."

MotoGP: Zarco:

Johann Zarco came in with an eighth time in the morning. He, however, failed to maintain it in the afternoon's pre-qualifying session at the Motegi track, where he finished with a 17th time, in line with the performance expected from Honda, but not according to typical home-race hopes.

"As we expected, this track is proving to be difficult. I didn't expect such a close group, but this gives us hope for entering the Q2 if we do a good lap. For now, it's tougher than in Indonesia, partly because we haven't found a set-up that would allow me to improve the sensations as well as the time. So, I hope that tomorrow, in the rain, we can make the most of the bike, although the acceleration problems also remain when the wet. But, with a good feeling in the front, I hope to do well even in the rain and get a good result," said the French rider.

The news of the day invovles Romano Albesiano transfer from Aprilia to Honda. "It's always good to have someone who brings fresh ideas and a new vision. It's also important to get information from engineers who come from other manufacturers, in order to make significant changes on the bike and move forward in development. The Japanese have the ability of making two different bikes, but they're similar in terms of the sensastions given. This is also our limitation now, because we can't find a direction, especially because of the problems in acceleration that we have from the start of the season, therefore, we need something different. Hopefully, this will make a difference for the future."

An Italian engineer in a Japanese company could lead to a change in mentality and working philosophy. "For the moment, only one will come. We're not talking about a group of ten Italians playing Italian music in a Japanese factory. It's going to bring ideas, and I hope benefits, even if the Japanese imprinting is very strong on our bike, and it shocks me every time, because few things are working."
