SBK: World Superbike 2025 will begin the week before MotoGP

In the week that MotoGP released its 2025 calendar, the upcoming World Superbike season is also beginning to be defined. Dorna's goal for next year is to get to thirteen rounds, which is one more than this year.

All hopes are pinned on the return of Turkey, represented by Istanbul Park. As we already know, Gregorio Lavilla has made an inspection in recent weeks and the track has all the requirements to host the production-derived series. The only problem is the context around it, namely the facilities: in this regard, an organizational machine is needed, which is not there yet. This was an aspect already mentioned in recent days and on which Kenan Sofuoglu has been very clear.

Turkey aside, the certainty is that the Superbike World Championship will start one week earlier than the MotoGP one: the appointment is therefore for February 22-23 at Phillip Island with the traditional tests on the Monday and Tuesday before the race.

Otherwise, the other rounds such as Assen, Misano (the first or second in June), Donington, Most, Portimao, Aragon, Jerez, Magny-Cours and Cremona remain confirmed. For the Lombardy round it remains to be seen whether it will be revived in September or not, while let's not forget the new entry of Balaton at the end of July.

Nothing doing on the other hand for Slovakia: in recent months there was indeed talk of the possibility of going to the Slovakia Ring, but apparently the event is postponed to 2026.
