SBK: Aragon: Toprak still in doubt, Rea returns

At the moment it is still unknown whether he will be there or not. Toprak's participation in the Aragon round still remains in doubt, since BMW has not yet made a declaration on the matter. While waiting for any communication on the #54, news comes from Yamaha about the return of Johnny Rea.

After missing the Cremona round due to his crash in Race 1 at Magny-Cours, the multiple WSBK champion will be back on his Yamaha again at MotorLand. In fact, the #65 underwent oxygen therapy and hyperbaric chamber sessions in order to speed up the recovery process for his finger injury. "It's been a difficult two weeks," he said, "I'm still not 100 percent healed, but I feel I'm ready to come back, although I'm still working with my physiotherapist to improve the mobility of my thumb. The tendon injury was the main problem, which was repaired by my surgeon in France, and the upper part of the thumb is healing quite well after the skin graft. It's one step after another, my goal has always been to come back for Aragon, but I was disappointed to miss Cremona because it was the first race I missed due to injury since 2013."

Now the Spanish round awaits him: "I am looking forward to racing at Aragon: it is a track I like and on which I have had success in the past. It has been resurfaced, so we will have to understand the performance and tyre wear and work to get the best set-up for the race. Yamaha has also launched the 2025 model of the R1, with some upgrades. On Friday morning, I will be able to test the new aerodynamic package, and most importantly, I can't wait to get back to my family of riders. Even just for one race is tough, and as happy as I was that Nico was filling in for me, it's hard not to be there. We are all working to come back stronger and we will give it our all!"
