MotoGP, Marquez: "Rossi's words about 2015? I have more important things to think about."

"I don't want to get into a war with a rider who is no longer active. I thank Bagnaia for trying to stop the booing on the podium. Fighting for the title? I have already achieved all my goals for this year, everything that comes will be extra."

MotoGP: Marquez:

"Migno's blog with Valentino? Of course I saw it," smiles Marc Marquez. In that interview, Rossi lashed out (once again) at the Spanish rider, going over what had happened between the two in 2015. If possible, he did it even more harshly than before. What was Marquez's response,"it's simple: right now I have much more important things to think about than wasting time with declarations from other riders," he ended the matter.

Do you think this is an attempt at a psychological attack on you?
"I don't think so, also because it wouldn't achieve anything, as happened in 2016, in 2017, it's all in the past."

Do certain words motivate you to win again in Misano?
"I'm always motivated to the max, then you have to be realistic about what you can achieve. I will try to give 100 percent as always. I repeat, the last thing I am interested in is getting into these games with a rider who is no longer active."

According to you what was his intent?
"Ask him."

Do you think he's obsessed with it?
"Ask him. I don't care, I don't want to get into wars that bring me nothing."

After the victory you were booed by the fans.
"I want to say thanks to Pecco fir trying to calm a bit because I didn't see it at the podium at the moment. This is something the riders can stop not the people or the journalists. As I've always said, if you don't care about the other one, it's not necessary to boo, but it's something that has been there."

Let's think of the GP ahead.
"The most important thing will be to understand the different conditions we will find. Between another race on another track allows you to focus only on riding, but the downside is that a small mistake can become big. In Sunday's race I felt very good, especially in the finish, and that gave me confidence."

Are you thinking about the title?
"You have to finish the season very well, which means fighting with the first two riders in front, actually three because I also include Bastianini. Winning the title? I am very close to reaching the level I would like, but I still have to perfect some aspects and I am at a disadvantage, in terms of points. I can't catch up with riders who are proving to be very consistent in terms of results. I know I have weak points to work on, like qualifying and early laps, that's what I want to do in this end of the season to better prepare for next season. I've already achieved all my goals this year, so anything that comes will be extra."

Let's talk about the future. With Miller's announcement, the lineup for 2025 was finalized today. Are you surprised that the Japanese manufacturers have not changed any riders in the factory teams?
"They haven't because what they need is to improve technically. It is not the riders who make the bikes, but the engineers, otherwise KTM, which has the best test rider, would have the best bike. Instead Ducati has it, with Pirro, who has not been a great champion, but he is a great tester and can play his role very well."
