It is undoubtedly one of the big pieces of news of 2025. We are talking about Bimota, which will be on the starting blocks of World Superbike next year with Alex Lowes and Axel Bassani.
The program is now clear: Provec, i.e., the current Kawasaki factory team, will take over the running of the project. Kawasaki, on the other hand, will be responsible for the exclusive development of the engine while the rest will be handled by Bimota, which will see to the construction of the chassis as well as the aerodynamics, wings, pistons, gearbox and everything else related, as a result relieving the Japanese manufacturer of the commitment.
The fact remains that the project is moving ahead at a rapid pace, so much so that test rider Florian Marino has already carried out several days of testing with the new bike, whose name will most likely be KB5.
Not only that, according to reports, several weeks ago Axel Bassani and Alex Lowes also had a chance to test the bike. They did so in Spain, during a locked-down test and away from the spotlight, of course.
Obviously there is no shortage of curiosity to see the new bike in public. A date has not yet been announced, but it could probably be right after the Jerez race, on Tuesday, October 22 and Wednesday, October 23. In fact, a test is scheduled on those dates, and it cannot be ruled out that Bassani and Lowes may finally show off the KB5.
Just over a month and then the wait will be over.
